Dr. Georgios Ch. Sirakoulis received his Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1996) from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Greece, and for his Diploma Thesis he received a prize of distinction from the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). In 2001, he received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace (2008-today). He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), of the IEEE Computer Society, of the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE), of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), and a member of the TEE. He was also founding member and Vice President of the IEEE Student Branch of Thrace for the period 2000-2001.
